Job description

We are looking for a senior copywriter (native English) for 3-4 days per week until 31.05.19.


A writer and owner of the Scotch & Soda tone of voice across all channels; from in store to social and ecomm, and from sell-in to PR.

 

The individual we are looking for has worked in fashion and has in-house copywriting and concepting experience or has agency experience as a copywriter for a fashion or lifestyle brand. We are looking for an English native (please do not apply if you are a non-native writer). 

 

With a minimum of five-eight years of experience in the business, you are a seasoned writer and strong conceptual thinker. You are able to switch styles at a nod. You and the Head of Copy will work closely to hone the Scotch & Soda tone of voice and create for all the brand’s channels. 

 

You write swiftly and with ease – impressing with your own creative slant on ideas and output. You present 100% error-free, complete pieces of work and would never rely on anyone else editing or proofreading your work to catch mistakes – or to perfect your work. You understand the changing shopping landscape and adapt to and love new challenges – always delivering simple, effective messaging with the right messaging hierarchy. 

 

You bring new ideas to the table. And love the entire creative process – from umbrella concept to finest small print. Your experience in previous roles enables you to push the bar with relation to the content execution process – guiding and collaborating with the in-house studio team towards better and excellent output. 

 

Our ideal candidate has some knowledge of the Dutch language (you will not need to write in Dutch).

 

Role Description:

  •  Lead, write and deliver excellent copy in the Scotch & Soda tone of voice from sell-in to ecomm copy;
  • Work with the in-house studio on creative concepts to communicate the brand’s different collections, trends and hero garments;
  • Work with the channels (retail, ecomm, PR) to improve process and structure to ensure excellent creative output;
  • Work with the Head of Copy and in-house studio to deliver creative concepts and error-free creative and written work for all the brand’s channels;
  • Work with the Head of Copy to create, fine-tune, update and maintain tone of voice documents;
  • Work with the channels and the in-house studio to ensure that collection concepts and story-telling are consistent across all channels;
  • Understand the restrictions of a creative brief – timing and budget – turning those to your and the brand’s advantage through your creativity and writing skills;
  • Present your work to the channel teams and to key brand stakeholders;
  • Work with the head of studio and head of copy to improve process and to bring new ideas to the table;


Requirements

  •  University degree or the equivalent;
  • At least eight years professional experience in writing for brands or within an agency environment;
  • Self-starter; sticks to deadlines and motivates team members to deliver excellence;
  • Passion for fashion / style and for the Scotch & Soda brand;
