Job description

We are looking for a creative editor to join the global digital marketing team at our beautiful Amsterdam office. We are looking for a smart and savvy person who will have a knack for driving inspiration, creating relevant conversations with our consumer. Under the leadership of the Digital Marketing team and Creative studio you will cultivate and maintain the content strategy and publishing schedule for the Scotch & Soda blog/news channel.

What you’ll do:

  • Write weekly articles for Scotch & soda .com;
  • Develop articles based on Scotch & Soda communication calendar and additional content themes;
  • Work closely with the brands head of copy and social team to create integrated, engaging content for our customers;
  • Curate, edit and reimagine existing Scotch & Soda content for digital;
  • Work with the SEO manager to grow organic reach of fashion content, using data and analytics;
  • Conceptualise, pitch, and execute forward-thinking stories (finding the balance between consumer relevant/On Scotch USPs) including original photo assets (shoots if needed);
  • Create a (sticky) seasonal calendar for your stories;
  • Commission stories when needed; 
  • Propose written features, photo shoots, video, experiential, social etc..);
  • Will need to understand the Scotch & Soda tone of voice and aesthetics and be able to integrate it into everything you create from all content;
  • You will be supported by our creative studio but also have the freedom to lead your content pieces; 
  • Work closely with the different department stakeholders;
  • Liaise with CRM/insights team and incorporate findings into copy messaging.


  • 3-5 years of relevant experience at a publication, digital media company or content creation;
  • Currently living in the Netherlands (preferably in Amsterdam) 
  • SEO-savvy with a strong understanding of writing for search;
  • A keen eye for visuals and copy;
  • True understanding of the branded content strategy and have the ability to create and write articles;
  • Able to spin topical news into commerce opportunities our readers will flock to;
  • Someone with a keen eye for data and the ability to use analytics to shape content;
  • Able to use Photoshop and/or carry out basic image editing;
  • Intuitive/proactive, and collaborative mindset that wants to push content to the next-level;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • A lover of all things fashion and a follower of emerging trends in that world, with strong contacts you can turn to for exclusives and assets. Previous experience of writing on fashion for a website is a definite advantage;
  • Proven experience of internet / interactive copywriting within the fashion, editorial or related industry;
  • Fluent in English (Mandatory) and fluent in Dutch (Desirable).
